Hi, I’m Shreyas — an interdisciplinary engineer transitioning into patent law. My background spans software development, geotechnics, and mechanics: a decade of research, teaching, and high-performance simulation work at the University of Stuttgart.
I grew up in Chennai, India, and studied Mechanical Engineering at SRM University. After graduating in 2012, I began my professional career at Sundram Fasteners Limited, first in the Tool Room and later in technical sales and marketing, where I coordinated prototype work and client requirements for international automotive customers.
In 2014, I moved to Stuttgart to study Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures at the University of Stuttgart. I completed my master’s degree in 2016, then joined the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering for doctoral research under Prof. Christian Moormann. I completed my PhD in 2022, focusing on the Convected Particle Domain Interpolation method for large-deformation geotechnical problems.
From 2022 to 2026, I was a postdoc at the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering, where I further developed the material point method code applied to offshore wind turbine foundations and large-deformation problems.
Since 2026, I have been working as a patent attorney candidate in Stuttgart, Germany.
Take a look at my CV for more on my experience and education.
